Vee Rubbers latest addition to its performance family of tires is the Arachnid, designed exclusively for the Spyder. The Arachnid tire is constructed with a specific compound, construction and weight-carrying capacity to enhance the ride and performance on the Spyder.

Specially designed for wet and dry environment
They have two plies of steel in the tread pack to both provide puncture resistance as well as to combat centrifugal growth of the center of the tread.
Outstanding straight line performance for acceleration and braking
Heavy duty construction for the additional weight and 2-up riding
Newly formulated compound for Spyders for exceptional mileage
Vee Rubber Spyder tires now available to non O.E. dealers
Quality tires very reasonably priced

3/10/16 NEW INFO from the enginers at Vee Rubber

The "Touring" V35004 version was redesigned to handle much more of a load (almost 1,000 lbs.) and control sidewall flex under those same loads. Sidewall flex was our main concern with the standard Arachnid being used on the RT's. More than anything is to check air pressure before every ride to get the most service from any Spyder tire.

Super critical. Just a little low and the edges wear.

The main difference between the standard Arachnid rear tire ( V35002) and the "Touring" Arachnid rear tire (V35004) is the change in construction to achieve an 80 load rating (992 lbs.) Kenda has a 76 load rating (882 lbs.). We also add some margin to our tires by at least +15% just for good measure.
To achieve a stronger higher load rated tire, Vee choose higher (more threads per inch) denier count ply material for extra strength and lighter weight. The other method is to add rubber material which adds excess weight. All other ratings are same.

The ply ratings are
Thread area = 1 polyester- 2 - steel- 1 nylon
Sidewall = 1 polyester
Tread wear = 500
Traction = A
Temp = A
